Horizonclear Atelier
EST. 2018 • OSLO

Calm mastery in drawing, refined over years.

Horizonclear Atelier began as a small studio above a quiet fjord and grew into a global destination for artists who value clarity, observation, and craft.

Our story

Horizonclear Atelier was founded by three practicing artists who were disillusioned with noisy online courses and rushed academies. They wanted a place where students could slow down, observe deeply, and receive honest feedback.

From a single rented studio in Oslo, the school now hosts thousands of artists each year across residential programs, online courses, and curated residencies. Every program returns to the same simple belief: mastery comes from sustained, quiet attention.

SCANDINAVIAN ROOTS

Built on light, silence, and line.

We still host winter residencies in wooden cabins where the only distraction is northern daylight and the sound of pencil on paper.

Our mission & values

Observe first

We teach artists to see before they draw. Drawing begins with perception, not marks.

Critique with care

Feedback is always respectful, specific, and aimed at long-term growth rather than quick praise.

Craft over trends

We ignore fleeting styles. Our curriculum centers on materials, composition, and enduring visual principles.
